Hello my loves,
Recently I attended a Desi (Asian, typically Indian or Pakistani) Mehndi. If you don't know what it is then, it is actually a function similar to bridal shower. But here the bride to be puts Mehndi aka Henna and even her friends and family. So here are 7 things you need to keep in mind when attending a Mehndi!
Yes, I know you might be thinking...Really a do's and dont's for mehndi too?? But more than do's and don'ts this is actually about enjoying the event to the fullest! So keep on reading..!
1. Braid your Hair
Nobody wants to have their hair sticking on everyone nearby when dancing. So it is best to braid your hair in a typical Desi way or just French braid those bad boys!
2. Jazzing your Hair do
You can always wear hair extentions to have that long Rapunzel like hair and for that added volume....If you are Desi then embrace your culture and wear a colorful Paranda (braid extension with accessories) ... It never goes out of style!
3. Minimal Makeup
Mehndi is still not the big day..so wait a little for the big event to show your makeup skills. Wear minimal makeup so that you don't over shadow the bride who will be dressed simple as the event is still not the main one. You can wear light eye shadow and a good winged liner with blush and lipstick and you are good to go!
4. Keep your Accesories limited
Wear big Jhumkas (earrings) as they are one of the things for a night like this and LOADS of bangles mix and match all the colors. But keep your hands free of any clutch bags trust me you will thank me later. You just need your phone anyways to go around with you.
5. Be Comfortable
Wear cute flats as there is a chance that you will be called on the dance floor. You don't want your feet too tired or swollen to not being able to wear heels on the day of the wedding. So keep comfort as the key!
6. Go with the theme
Wear clothes that match the theme of Mehndi night. Try to be as colorful as possible! Mehndi night means the more color the better! Common colors to look for are purple, fushia pink, green of course, yellow, orange, blue and red. Avoid wearing boring and non interesting colors like brown and black on this day...Go with the crowd!
7. Charge your battery
There is a huge chance that you will be taking a tons of videos of dance and stuff and of course selfies! So charge up your phone batteries to make each moment a memorable one!
If all fails just remember, remove your shoes and dance like nobody is watching you...after all it's a moment to celebrate!! If you found this post helpful then share it with your friends and comment down below! Till next time cya!
